Description

CesA7 (IRX3) is a catalytic subunit of xylem specific cellulose synthase involved in secondary cell wall biosynthesis - cellulose synthase terminal complex. It interacts with CESA4 and CESA8, which are necessary for the functional complex and localization of secondary cell wall deposition sites. Occurs in secondary cell wall developmental tissues such as xylem and interfascicular regions in stems and flowers of young plants. It is not expressed in leaves, roots and buds. Synonyms: Protein irregular xylem 3,IRX3, protein fragile fiber 5.
