Description

B-PE is a phycobilic protein that is a component of phycobilisome, a light-collecting complex found in red algae and some cyanobacteria. Phycobilites are attached to the stromal side of the thylakoid membrane. B-phycoglobin has both phycoglobin (on the alpha and beta subunits) and phycoglobin (on the gamma subunits) chromophores.
