Description

Chloroplast ATP synthases belong to the f1 type ATPase family, which is also found in bacteria and mitochondria. ATP synthase generates ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate using the energy generated by the electrochemical proton gradient of the anticysts. The transmembrane CF0IV subunit of apr. 25 kDa belongs to the stator part of ATP synthase and participates in proton translocation.
