NCBI Protein Information
transcription regulatory protein SNF2
NCBI Summary
Encodes a SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling ATPase that upregulates transcription of all three CUC genes and is involved in the formation and/or maintenance of boundary cells during embryogenesis. Also mediates repression of expression of seed storage proteins in vegetative tissues. Interacts strongly with AtSWI3C, also with AtSWI3B, but not with AtSWI3A or AtSWI3D.

UniProt Comments
ATPase subunit of a multiprotein complex equivalent of the SWI/SNF complex that acts by remodeling the chromatin by catalyzing an ATP-dependent alteration in the structure of nucleosomal DNA. Represses embryonic genes in leaves and controls shoot development and flowering. Activates flower homeotic genes. The association of BRM with its target genes requires REF6 (PubMed:27111034). Necessary to acquire heat stress (HS) memory, by globally binding to HS memory genes (PubMed:27680998).
