Isophycocyanin is a protein of the light-collecting phycobilin family of red algae and cyanobacteria. It is A copigment of chlorophyll A, located at the core of the phycobilisomer, and its strong spectral overlap with chlorophyll contributes to the energy transfer of photosynthesis.
