Total chicken immunoglobulin antibody fraction (IgY) is present in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, 0.02% sodium azide as preservative.The antibody may be used in immunoaffinity chromatography for the isolation, purification and concentration of acrylamide from food samples for further analysis.

Acrylamide is the starting material for the production of polyacrylamide, and polyacrylamide is used as a filler for wastewater treatment, gel electrophoresis, paper production, etc. Acrylamide is produced during the heating of food and is found in coffee and other foods. The compound is neurotoxic and has endocrine disrupting properties.
