ABP1 is an auxin receptor that regulates auxin polar transport. It is involved in the shade avoidance response, controls cell division and elongation, controls the size of root meristem and mediates the auxin response. ABP1 promotes endocytosis through clathrin recruitment and limits the internalization of PIN during auxin binding by inhibiting clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
