Target Information
Target Name Interferon Receptor
Gene Abbr. IFNAR1
Gene ID 3454
Full Name interferon alpha and beta receptor subunit 1
Alias AVP, IFN-alpha-REC, IFNAR, IFNBR, IFRC
Species Human
Genomic Locus chr21:33335596
Transcript NM_000629
WT Expression Level 15.33 TPM (TPM = Transcripts per million; any value less than 3 is considered non-expressing)
Introduction The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulates Janus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, including STAT1 and STAT2. The encoded protein also functions as an antiviral factor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
