Target Information
Target Name IRE1α
Gene Abbr. ERN1
Gene ID 2081
Full Name endoplasmic reticulum to nucleus signaling 1
Alias IRE1, IRE1P, IRE1a, hIRE1p
Species Human
Genomic Locus chr17:64072064
Transcript NM_001433
WT Expression Level 2.27 TPM (TPM = Transcripts per million; any value less than 3 is considered non-expressing)
Introduction The protein encoded by this gene is the ER to nucleus signalling 1 protein, a human homologue of the yeast Ire1 gene product. This protein possesses intrinsic kinase activity and an endoribonuclease activity and it is important in altering gene expression as a response to endoplasmic reticulum-based stress signals.
