Description
Polymer architecture: Dendron; Generation: 1; Core functional group: Biotin; End Group Functionality: Carboxylic acid; No. Surface Groups: 2; Calculated Mol. Wt.: 736.8 g/mol; Bis-MPA = 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid
Application
Bis-MPA dendritic molecules are based on 2,2-bismethylolpropionicacid (bis-MPA) building blocks. The hydrolysable linkers presented in this type of polymers allows their degradation into byproducts that can be reabsorbed by the body or into excretable non-toxic small molecules. Therefore, this group of dendritic polymers are biocompatible and biodegradable, making them suitable for biomedical applications. The carboxylic acid-functionalized corona and biotin-functionalized core of this product can be readily used in bioconjugation reactions.
