Target Information
Target Name BMPR-IA/ALK-3
Gene Abbr. BMPR1A
Gene ID 657
Full Name bone morphogenetic protein receptor type 1A
Alias 10q23del, ACVRLK3, ALK3, CD292, SKR5
Introduction This gene encodes a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptor family of transmembrane serine/threonine kinases. The ligands of this receptor are BMPs, which are members of the TGF-beta superfamily. BMPs are involved in endochondral bone formation and embryogenesis. These proteins transduce their signals through the formation of heteromeric complexes of 2 different types of serine (threonine) kinase receptors: type I receptors of about 50-55 kD and type II receptors of about 70-80 kD. Type II receptors bind ligands in the absence of type I receptors, but they require their respective type I receptors for signaling, whereas type I receptors require their respective type II receptors for ligand binding. Mutations in this gene have been associated with primary pulmonary hypertension. [provided by RefSeq]

Clonality Polyclonal
Clone No. N/A
Isotype IgG
Immunogen Mouse myeloma cell line NS0-derived recombinant human BMPR-IA/AKL-3. Gln24-Arg152. Accession # P36894.
Usage
Application WB, FC
Dilutions Western Blot (2 µg/mL); Flow Cytometry (2.5 µg/10^6 cells)
Reactivity Human
Specificity Detects human BMPR-IA in direct ELISAs and Western Blots. In direct ELISAs, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse BMPR-IA is observed and less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human BMPR‑IB is observed.
